Volunteering as a lighter and compositor using Vray in Maya and Nuke has enhanced my skills in feature animation. This role has given me a better understanding of animation workflows for lighting and compositing and experience working with color boards.
After attempting to learn Unreal Engine and focus on everything at once, I decided to concentrate solely on lighting. I handled all lighting, compositing, and some asset modifications, achieving dynamic lighting throughout the sequence. Key skills I learned include navigating the UE interface, editing materials, using the Sequencer for animating lights, rendering sequences, integrating passes with Nuke, maintaining shot continuity, and effectively using various light types in a real-time workflow.
